I'm Jake
I picked up my first camera in 2014, and I haven't stopped taking pictures. I just looked around the room as I'm writing this, and I count five cameras and three lenses within a few feet of me. Two of the cameras are dedicated astrophotography sensors that attach to my telescope, and two of the camera lenses are bigger than loaves of bread. I live and breathe photography!
I've taken more than 150,000 photos in the last ten years, and I've curated the best of my work on this website. I'm in awe of our delicate place in the cosmos, and I love capturing its beauty to share it with others. That means you! Come say hello with the contact form. Thank you so very much for visiting my website—I hope that you enjoy what you see!
Mountains are important to me
I grew up in Golden, just against the the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I enjoyed weekend trips to the mountains with family, but I never thought too much about it. I joined the US Air Force after high school, and my first duty station was Minot Air Force Base in the plains of North Dakota. I immediately realized how critically important mountains were to my enjoyment of life on Earth.
These days, you can find me swimming in alpine lakes, running around in the woods with a camera, or cruising through twisty roads on my motorcycle.
